Mary Aab is currently practicing as an outpatient counselor with Assessment & Therapy Associates. As an existentialist and humanist, she welcomes others in exploring their journey and creating a positive way of being. She has been developing her skills and providing service to others for over 25 years. She provides individual, family and couples counseling. She is a leader in her community in serving the LGBT community particularly those in the transitioning process. She can assist with depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, negative thoughts, illness, loss and letting go of old patterns that no longer fit.

As the former Director of The LGBT Center of Hampton Roads she was able to support and advocate for equality and provide resources to the community. Prior to that she was the Regional Director for Virginia Supportive Housing where she ran housing programs that served those experiencing homelessness. She has also worked for the Virginia Office of Protection and Advocacy where she was an advocate for individuals with disabilities. Mary has been an advocate for Human Rights through most of her career. She has a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and she currently resides in Norfolk Virginia.
